The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Producer with strong post-production experience to join our Melbourne team, working across high-profile film and streaming campaigns for clients around the world.
This is a broad senior production role for someone who understands post-production inside out, but is equally creative-leaning and comfortable managing projects, speaking directly with clients and taking ownership when things need to get done. This is a deliberately versatile role. At times you'll be shaping campaigns from the early stages. At others, the work is all about finishing.
You’ll work closely with Producers, Editors, Online, Audio and Technical teams to manage projects through post-production and finishing, making sure work moves smoothly from approved creative through to final delivery. You’ll be confident handling client questions and feedback, understanding what is needed technically and translating that into a clear plan for the team.
As a senior member of a small team, you’ll need to be hands-on, adaptable and comfortable moving between client management, production, post-production and delivery. You’ll bring sound judgement, spot issues early and help create the clarity needed to keep projects moving, particularly when timelines are tight or priorities change.
We love building connection in person, so we're mostly based in our Fitzroy office. This role has flexibility to work from home, usually a day a week, and more when the work allows.
What You’ll Do
Take senior production ownership across AV projects, from creative development through to finishing and final delivery.
Act as a trusted client contact, confidently managing questions, feedback, expectations and changing requirements.
Work closely with Producers and creative teams to understand each project from an early stage and plan effectively for post-production and delivery.
Manage projects through offline, online, grade, mix, versioning, QC and final delivery, ensuring the right people, materials and approvals are in place.
Build and maintain clear schedules across multiple projects and deliverables, managing priorities and dependencies as work evolves.
Anticipate post-production and finishing requirements early, identifying potential issues before they affect timelines or delivery.
Oversee final assets and deliverables, ensuring they meet client specifications and Intermission’s quality standards.
Understand client delivery specifications and communicate technical requirements clearly to both clients and internal teams.
Coordinate effectively across Creative, Production, Online, Audio, Operations and Technical teams.
Manage external post-production partners and facilities where required, including grade, mix and online sessions.
Troubleshoot production and post-production issues calmly and practically, taking ownership of problems through to resolution.
Help manage workload and priorities within the local team, providing support and guidance to less experienced team members.
Build strong working relationships with colleagues across Intermission’s international offices and help projects move seamlessly between teams.
Support improvements to post-production and finishing workflows, identifying opportunities to make delivery simpler, clearer and more efficient.
Maintain strong commercial awareness around scope, resource, schedules and the impact of changes during post-production.
What You’ll Bring
Significant production experience within film, television, streaming, entertainment marketing or a related creative environment.
An excellent understanding of how creative work moves from offline through post-production to final delivery; full knowledge of post-production and finishing workflows, including online, grade, audio mix, versioning, QC and delivery.
A genuine interest in the creative side, and the confidence to work alongside editors and creative teams, not just at the finishing end.
Experience managing projects and confidence in speaking directly with clients, handling questions and feedback and managing expectations professionally.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to make decisions and keep work moving independently.
Exceptional attention to detail and quality control, without losing sight of the wider project or client relationship.
A calm, collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate across international offices and time zones
Experience supporting or mentoring more junior team members.
Strong commercial awareness, including an understanding of scope, resource, and the cost implications of production decisions.
A genuine interest in film, television, entertainment marketing and the craft of post-production.
