The Opportunity
As Intermission’s US business continues to grow, we are strengthening the operational foundation of our Production team.
The Senior Manager, Production Operations is a senior role responsible for the visibility, coordination and operational consistency of US Production. Working closely with Producers, Associate Producers, Creative leadership and Finance, this role ensures that projects are resourced effectively, workflows are followed consistently, priorities are clear and commercial discipline is maintained.
This position plays a key role in supporting work that flows between the global teams and especially the US and Australia, ensuring clean handovers, clear ownership and quality control across regions.
The role operates within a matrix structure and partners closely with senior Production leadership in the UK.
What You’ll Do
Maintain a clear, accurate and current view of all live US projects and relevant global projects, including ownership, resourcing and delivery status.
Partner with Producers and senior Production leadership to forecast capacity, identify pressure points, successfully prioritise and coordinate freelancer engagement.
Support forward planning across Editorial, Finishing and Production teams to reduce last-minute resourcing and reactive hiring.
Ensure production workflows are followed consistently, including clear kick-offs, defined ownership and internal review checkpoints.
Act as a central point of coordination between US Production and Australia-based teams, supporting clean handovers, clear priorities and cross-region delivery.
Work closely with Finance to support accurate time capture, billing inputs and commercial visibility across projects.
Identify material scope changes and ensure they are visible to senior Production leadership in a timely manner.
Contribute to continuous improvement of production workflows and tools, ensuring systems are used effectively and consistently rather than introducing unnecessary complexity.
Support senior Production leadership with reporting and operational insights that inform decision-making.
Act as a steady, senior presence during peak campaign periods, helping to maintain structure and clarity under pressure.e.
What You’ll Bring
Significant experience (typically 6-10+ years) within production, post-production or production operations in a creative agency, trailer house or campaign environment.
Strong understanding of campaign workflows, resourcing models and finishing processes.
Experience working across multiple regions or distributed teams, with an appreciation for cross-border delivery challenges.
Commercial awareness and confidence partnering with Finance and senior stakeholders.
A proactive, organised and detail-focused working style, with the ability to balance big-picture visibility and day-to-day operational detail.
Confidence to raise capacity, workflow or commercial risks constructively with senior leadership.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust across creative, production and finance disciplines.
Comfort operating within a matrix organisation and supporting multiple stakeholders simultaneously, in a fast-paced, global environment.t.
Please Note
We mainly work from the office full-time, but this role will be eligible for one day of working from home per week once the individual is settled in.
Salary
The range for this position is up to $140,000 p.a. plus benefits, with flexibility for the right candidate.
