The Opportunity
The IT & Infrastructure Engineer owns Intermission Film’s core IT infrastructure, network stability, device management and security environment across all markets.
This role is accountable for ensuring the broader IT ecosystem is secure, resilient and scalable, providing a stable foundation for production and operational delivery. It complements the Post-Production Engineer by focusing on core infrastructure, connectivity and systems governance.
This role is three days per week in-person at our East London office on an initial fixed-term of 6-months. Clear prioritisation, documented processes and defined escalation routes are required to ensure effective coverage and continuity.
What you'll do
Infrastructure & Network Ownership
Own network architecture including firewalls, VLANs, routing and Wi-Fi.
Maintain servers, virtualisation environments and cloud integrations.
Oversee VPN, remote access and connectivity systems across regions.
Lead infrastructure upgrades and capacity planning.
Security & Compliance
Own infrastructure-related security protocols and enforcement.
Maintain access controls, identity management and user permissions.
Support TPN and studio compliance from an infrastructure perspective.
Ensure systems are audit-ready and appropriately documented.
End-User Systems & Device Management
Oversee lifecycle management of workstations and laptops.
Define device standards and procurement specifications.
Ensure efficient and secure onboarding and offboarding processes.
Maintain patching, antivirus and update compliance.
Incident Management & Stability
Act as escalation point for complex IT incidents.
Troubleshoot cross-site connectivity or infrastructure failures.
Ensure resolution processes are documented and repeatable.
Cross-Regional Consistency
Maintain infrastructure standards across all locations.
Coordinate with local teams or vendors to ensure alignment.
Ensure remote teams are fully supported within agreed scope.
Collaboration & Governance
Partner closely with the Post-Production Engineer to align infrastructure with production systems.
Contribute to technical roadmap planning and budget forecasting.
Participate in monthly Tech & Production governance meetings.
Accountability
Network stability and uptime across regions.
Infrastructure security and compliance.
Device management standards and lifecycle processes.
Infrastructure documentation and change governance.
Escalation and resolution of complex IT incidents.
What you'll bring
Proven experience in a IT infrastructure or systems engineering role within a creative, media or fast-paced environment.
Strong expertise across networking, firewalls, servers, virtualisation and cloud systems.
Experience managing infrastructure security frameworks and compliance requirements.
Confidence owning infrastructure decisions and implementing change independently.
Strong troubleshooting capability across both user-facing and backend systems.
Experience working across multiple sites or distributed teams.
Clear, pragmatic communication style with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
Calm, structured approach when responding to incidents or outages.
High level of accountability and ownership over infrastructure performance.
Comfort operating effectively within a defined part-time scope while maintaining impact and clarity.
